Main advises WCAA with joint venture agreement with Boeing
World Class Aviation Academy has signed a joint venture agreement with Boeing to execute the training for CH-47 Chinook maintenance personnel for a period of 20 years. In front of the military base of the Dutch Ministry of Defence in Gilze-Rijen, the only commercial training center in the world will be located. Main Corporate Finance acted as advisor to the WCAA during the process of writing the business plan and negotiation with Boeing. Main developed the financial business case with respect to the partnership with Boeing. Also, Main assisted the WCAA during the negotiation process with Midpoint Brabant (a cooperation between public authorities, business and knowledge institutes in the region of Midden-Brabant) in arranging the financing. Boeing is producer of the Chinook, which is a transportation helicopter used by air forces and defences worldwide. This type of helicopter requires a great deal of maintenance, which results in a high demand for maintenance personnel. Up until now, Boeing executed these trainings herself at her facility in Wilmington (USA). To increase her presence in Europe, Boeing decided to move this facility to the Netherlands in a joint venture with WCAA. WCAA already offers maintenance training for mechanics of F-16 airplanes at her location in Hoogerheide. The Rotary Wing Training Center (RWTC) for training of Chinook maintenance personnel will be located at the Gate 2 area at the Aerospace Maintenance Value Park (AMVP) in Gilze-Rijen. Here, innovation and cluster development for the aerospace maintenance sector are pursued by all stakeholders. WCAA was founded in 2009 by ROC West-Brabant and is located in Woensdrecht. The company offers trainings to organizations in the aviation industry both in the Netherlands and abroad.
