Logo VIDIn June 2011 the management of the nationally well-known VerkeersInformatieDienst (www.vid.nl) has successfully bought the company. ABN Amro has provided the financing of the purchase in combination with the selling shareholder, who also kept a minority shareholding in the growing and successful company. ABN Amro had to make a great effort, since they had great competition of another large bank. The VID is not only concerned with providing information to road users via internet, radio and TV, but is mainly a provider of traffic management systems by order of Rijkswaterstaat, provinces and municipalities. Also for the VID can be considered that the (nearby) future has attractive growth opportunities.
