SDB Groep, full-suite software specialist for the healthcare market, acquires CSS Breda to continue together. The management team of CSS Breda remains involved with the company as part of SDB Groep. The acquisition of CSS Breda (CSS) is fully in line with the strategy of SDB Groep to serve the healthcare sector in the Netherlands with a full suite of products and services in which (e-) learning plays an important role.

In November 2018, SDB Groep acquired Cormel to supplement its Salary, HR and Planning software products with EHR (electronic health records) software. This was followed in April 2019 by the acquisition of Reports, which further strengthened the proposition with Analytics. In December 2019 a third acquisition followed with The Competence Group, adding (e-) learning to the SDB Groep product suite. After the takeover, CSS Breda will merge with The Competence Group in the SDB Academy, the new learning arm of SDB Groep that has great potential given the current situation on the healthcare labor market. After the addition of CSS Breda, the SDB Groep has more than 200 employees who have the common goal to facilitate the operations of Dutch healthcare institutions with smart products and services that connect seamlessly. With the EHR, Planning, HR, Salary, Analytics and Learning software, SDB Groep is the only party in the Netherlands with a full-suite SaaS solution focused on healthcare.

After the acquisitions of Cormel in November 2018, Reports in April 2019 and The Competence Group in December 2019, the takeover of CSS Breda by SDB Groep marks a fourth step in becoming the leading SaaS player in the Dutch healthcare market. Naturally, post-acquisition, the focus of SDB Groep remains on developing innovative products that meet the needs and demands of customers and trends in the Dutch healthcare market. Focus on organic growth and focusing on up- and cross-sell opportunities of the combined organizations are at the heart of the growth strategy. Continuing the buy-and-build strategy by forming new strategic combinations also remains one of the growth opportunities. This could include adding adjacent technologies or expanding to other segments of the healthcare market.
