Assessio started in 1954 as a psychology research institute. It was acquired in 1991 by the Swedish based, Scottish academic and entrepreneur professor Hunter Mabon. Under the ownership of the Mabon family, Assessio has grown into a leader in data driven talent assessment. From its Stockholm and Oslo offices, and via its global partner network, Assessio serves +1.600 customers in over 30 countries.
Assessio develops the highly innovative Ascend platform, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution helping clients find, identify and assess present and future employees. Since over 20 years, Assessio has also built and developed the Nordic market for world famous tests as MBTI, Hogan, and 16pf.
Assessio serves clients in a wide variety of verticals including business services, public sector, IT and technology, financial services and recruitment companies. Example clients include Randstad, PostNord, NorgesGruppen, Swedbank, Poolia and Adecco.
Growth in the talent assessment market is driven by increasing talent scarcity, rising workforce turnover rates, the need for leadership development and data-driven talent management. Assessment technology helps customers predict employee behavior and performance, improve recruitment accuracy, and reduce costs related to employee turnover.
Post-hire talent development processes are a rapidly growing application area. Assessio supports HR departments in key tasks such as leadership development, team composition, team collaboration, learning & development, top talent retention and feedback capabilities.
Assessio aims to become the leading talent assessment SaaS player in the European market. With the support of Main Capital Partners, the company will focus on organic growth and product innovation, enabling customers to improve recruitment and talent development processes. Assessio will also strengthen its product proposition and geographic coverage by selective add-on acquisitions and by expanding its global partner network.
Charly Zwemstra, Managing Partner Main Capital Partners, said: “Assessio has successfully transformed its organization towards a SaaS driven business model, and has developed market leading tools and products which is sold in a combined offering with tools as MBTI, Hogan, and 16pf. We see a huge potential for expanding the business. Our purpose in acquiring a majority stake in Assessio is to pave way for further product development and expansion in Europe both organically as well as by acquisitions in regions like the Benelux and DACH.”

With the support of the Main team, Assessio will be able to let more clients benefit from data driven talent assessment.
