Main Capital Partners receives international award and closes oversubscribed Main Capital III

Main Capital Partners has received the “Best Rising Star Benelux LBO Fund Award” last Thursday during the Exchange Private Equity Awards 2013 in Paris (France).

The Private Equity Exchange with more than 1,200 Limited Partners, General Partners and corporates, is the largest and most prestigious international Private Equity & Restructuring Conference in Europe. The jury were renowned fund-of-fund investors including e.g. Access Capital Partners, Akina Partners, Aberdeen SVG , AlpInvest Partners, OFI Asset Management, LGT Capital Partners and BlackRock Equity Partners. Main Capital has, through its focus on the later stage software companies industry, a proven track record and a large network within the industry. This year, Main Capital has successfully sold SaaS-based Cloud Backup software company IASO to software company GFI. In late October 2013, the new Main Capital III fund closed to new investors. Because of the great interest in Main Capital III, some reputable parties could not be admitted to the fund. Main Capital III aims to invest with buyouts and growth capital in mainly Dutch later-stage software companies and has currently 3 companies in its portfolio; this year investments are: SaaS-based businesses Connexys (Recruitment & Talent Management Software) and Regas (Healthcare workflow systems). The investors in Main Capital III are mostly institutional investors, family offices and wealthy entrepreneurs. Charly Zwemstra, (Managing Partner Main Capital Partners) was last Thursday, November 14th also nominated for Best Venture Capital Manager of the M&A Awards 2013, which will take place on December 12, 2013 in Amsterdam.
