Software industry investor Main Capital Partners is proud to announce that it was awarded twice during the Private Equity Exchange & Awards Ceremony, which took place in Paris (France) on November 27th, 2019. Last Wednesday evening, Main Capital received two awards at the Ceremony: the Gold Award in the category ‘Best Benelux LBO Fund’ and a Silver Award for the Best DACH LBO Fund.

The jury consisted of 80 members from renowned Limited Partners and Asset Managers. The whole investment team is delighted to win these awards and sees them as a reward for their hard work and a highly successful 2019. Last year, Main Capital has once again witnessed strong growth and further established itself as the leading buyout investor in Enterprise Software in Northwestern Europe.

With 5 new platform investments, 9 add-on acquisitions, 5 exits, the raising of a new fund of EUR 564 million (to be closed at the hard cap) and the opening of our office in the Nordics in Stockholm, 2019 was a year of enormous positive dynamics for Main Capital Partners.

Several new investments were made in successful software companies such as Hype Innovation (Germany), Assessio (Sweden), Onventis (Germany), GBTEC (Germany) and Optimizers (Netherlands). In addition, a large number of add-on acquisitions were realized for several portfolio companies such as Swiss Knife for GOconnectIT, Ctrl and King for MUIS Software, Reports for SDB Ayton, Verklizan and Point for Enovation, SecondFloor for Cleversoft, HFMtalentindex for Assessio. With the exits of a.o. Roxit, Axxerion and Ymor, Main Capital has managed to achieve outstanding returns for its investors.

In addition to these successful deals, the team of Main Capital Partners also significantly expanded to over 30 people across three offices. In May 2019, we opened an office in Stockholm (Sweden) to increase our direct and indirect exposure to the Nordics market. Being active in our three key regions (Benelux, DACH and Nordics) with local teams, it is our goal to build larger international software groups in Northwestern Europe, both through organic growth as well as through local and cross-border acquisitions.

In August of this year, data provider Preqin listed Main Capital Partners as the most reliable buyout fund manager in Europe of the last 10 years based on consistent top quartile performance of three funds in a row (Main Capital II, III and IV). Please refer to the article here.

2019 was also the year in which we launched the fundraising of Main Capital VI, with a target fund size of EUR 550 million. Main Capital has witnessed huge interest for its new fund from top quality LP’s from around the world, and therefore it is expected that the fund will be oversubscribed and closed on the hard cap of EUR 564 million before the end of the year.
