On Thursday, 17th of May 2018 the 8th edition of the Main Insight event took place in the Hilton Hotel in The Hague. This annual event is focused on educating management teams of SME software companies on various subjects relevant to their business model, product development – and go to market strategies. This years’ topic was Artificial Intelligence for enterprise software companies.
Five speakers from four different companies shared their insights on Artificial Intelligence to over 130 CEO’s of software companies.
Stefan van Duin (Director Data Science & AI at Deloitte) shared market intelligence in which areas companies invest to enhance their product suite with AI functionalities and the driving factors behind the emerging of AI, which initself is a relative old concept.
It was Jose Manuel Rodriguez from Amazon AWS, the largest AI platform vendor in the world, who introduced highly interesting use cases national (Dutch) and international of AI applications in existing software suites. These use cases where facilitated by standardized AI applications provided by AWS. Available on four different levels, from the infrastructure level to an off-the-shelf AI application that can be included in the existing software suite of ISVs to add AI based functionalities such as speech, language or image recognition.
SAS, represented by Jeroen Dijkxhoorn and Mark Bakker, showed the inherent link between data (analytics) and artificial intelligence and shared their vision on how to successfully introduce AI in your enterprise product suite.
Frank Smit (CIO OBI4wan) closed the event by introducing the higly interesting in-house build solution of Chat Bots based on AI functionalities developed by a team of AI and data science specialist working at OBI4wan.
