The Hague, 14 December 2021 – Main Capital Partners has acquired a majority stake in ORIBI ID-Solutions (“ORIBI”), a leading provider of software for Identity & Access Management (“IAM”).

ORIBI represents the first investment from the Main Foundation I fund, which was launched in October and targets smaller, high potential software companies.

ORIBI provides software solutions that allow organisations to both verify and process personal data of visitors, customers and employees. This is actioned through ID checks for municipalities, professional visitor registrations, ID screening of employees and customers via ID checking solutions on mobile devices. ORIBI’s flagship product is software with document reading capability which checks and verifies, through use of a camera, more than 6,000 different types of identification documents for multiple security features. With this, it is possible to conclusively establish the identity. Today 220 of 352 Dutch municipalities use ORIBI’s software.

Growing importance of data protection
Main’s investment in ORIBI highlights the growing importance and value of data protection. “The market for IAM software is predicted to grow by at least 13% in the coming three years,” commented Ivo van Deudekom, Senior Investment Manager at Main. “Both the demand for identity verification solutions and the sheer importance of data security are increasing and rightly so.” Main has previously acquired similar software companies with a strong focus on Identity and Access management, such as Pointsharp in Sweden and Sivis in Germany. Van Deudekom added: “We look forward to implementing our sector knowledge and expertise to make ORIBI even more successful.”

Partnering with the existing management team of ORIBI, Main is exploring various growth opportunities within the sectors the company is already active in, but also through expansion into adjacent sub-segments, to further strengthen its position in the broader security software market. Henk de Kort, CEO at ORIBI, added:  “We look forward to this working partnership with Main as we plan to further strengthen our market leading position in the Benelux region and also internationalise, by developing a new, exciting cross border strategy. With the help and support of Main, we fully expect to further improve our service offering so that we can deliver even more added value to our customer base.”

Main Foundation I
Since 2003, Main Capital Partners has invested exclusively in enterprise software companies. Owing to the success of previous funds and the increasing size of their associated investments, Main decided to start a special fund line for investments into smaller companies with high growth potential: “Main Foundation I”. This fund closed in October 2021 at a hard cap of EUR210 million and will be deployed to grow platforms organically. In addition, a selective buy-and-build strategy will be implemented, where appropriate, to strengthen a company’s strategic profile and to stimulate further growth.

ORIBI ID-Solutions
ORIBI, founded in 2009, provides modern solutions that make it possible to securely and efficiently verify and process the identity of for example visitors, customers and employees. In addition, ORIBI develops software for safe and efficient visitor registration and ID screening of employees and customers. ORIBI has about 20 employees who serve more than 400 customers from its headquarters in Oisterwijk. More than half of them are municipalities, but ORIBI also serves customers in the automotive, temporary employment, construction and industrial sectors.
