Based on data from hundreds of software companies across Northwestern Europe, the report provides valuable insights into key trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the sector. It offers entrepreneurs, management teams, and industry experts a reliable and objective benchmark to measure performance against peers in the Benelux, DACH, and Nordics regions.
The Main Software 50 is the leading ranking for software companies in Western Europe. Rather than focusing solely on revenue growth, the ranking evaluates a broad set of financial performance indicators to ensure a balanced and comprehensive assessment of each company’s success.
The Benchmark Report is built on data submitted by companies participating in the Main Software 50 Awards. This includes key metrics such as revenue growth, recurring and SaaS revenue share, and international revenue exposure. All data is verified by an independent research organization, and no jury is involved in determining the final Top 50 ranking.
Main Capital believes that software companies are the engines of the digital economy. The Main Software 50 Awards aim to recognize and celebrate outstanding software businesses across Europe. What started in the Benelux in 2012 has since expanded, with dedicated events in the DACH region (since 2022) and the Nordics (since 2024).
