Together, these subsidiaries comprise all of Tribal Group’s underlying operating businesses and activity. Upon completion, the operating businesses will transition from public-to-private ownership under Main.
Founded in 1999, Tribal is a UK-based provider of mission-critical Student Information Systems and education management software. Supported by approximately 915 professionals, Tribal serves more than 660 institutions globally, including over 200 universities, across the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Asia-Pacific.
Tribal’s software supports the full student lifecycle, from recruitment and admissions through enrolment, assessment, progression, and graduation. Its portfolio includes both its Student Information Solutions division and Etio, namely Empowering Education International Ltd, alongside EBS and Maytas for further education, apprenticeship, and work-based learning providers. These products are complemented by cloud, data and analytics, timetabling, integration, and student-engagement capabilities.
The education software market benefits from attractive structural growth drivers, including the continued migration from legacy systems to cloud-based platforms and increasing regulatory, reporting, and automation requirements. As institutions seek to modernize their technology environments and improve the student experience, mission-critical systems of record such as Tribal’s are becoming increasingly important.
Main and Tribal share the ambition to further strengthen Tribal’s position as a trusted international education software platform. Following completion, the partnership will focus on accelerating cloud adoption, expanding Tribal’s product offering, increasing penetration across its existing customer base, and pursuing selective acquisitions to broaden its capabilities and geographic reach.
The proposed transaction is subject to approval by a simple majority of votes cast by Tribal Group shareholders at a general meeting, together with the satisfaction of any applicable regulatory and customary closing conditions.
