At Main Capital, we believe technology and software play an increasingly important role in shaping society’s future. As a long-term investor focused exclusively on Enterprise Software, we recognize that sustainable innovation depends not only on strong companies and technologies, but also on access to talent, education, and opportunity. Through the Main Social Institute, we aim to give back to society and support initiatives that improve social inclusivity in the IT sector.
To help build a more inclusive and future-proof digital economy, Main Capital will support TechMeUp through a sponsorship focused on financing education for future tech professionals. TechMeUp, which is supported by Main Capital through the Main Social Institute, is a Dutch semi-public initiative that offers interest-free study loans to people moving into technology-related careers. It supports individuals who are retraining, changing careers, or returning to work and who may otherwise face financial barriers to gaining the education and technical skills they need. As part of this partnership, Main Capital will fund the equivalent of two study loans through TechMeUp. The initiative’s revolving model increases its impact: when beneficiaries repay their loans, the funds can be reused to support new participants. This allows a one-time contribution to create opportunities for numerous individuals over time.
Main’s partnership with TechMeUp reflects the firm’s broader vision for sustainable growth and social impact. As a strategic software investor, Main works closely with management teams to accelerate profitable growth, innovation, and international expansion. Through decades of experience in the software sector, Main has seen first-hand that access to skilled talent remains one of the industry’s most persistent challenges. At the same time, many motivated individuals still face financial or practical barriers to entering the technology sector. Main Capital believes that the benefits of digital transformation should be accessible to a broader group across society.
One of the initiatives of the Main Social Institute, is the Main Scholarship, a scholarship program for Dutch students pursuing technology and IT-related studies at institutions such as TU Delft, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, and Saxion. The scholarship is aimed at talented students who may face financial or social barriers in accessing higher education and career opportunities in technology. The partnership with TechMeUp is a natural extension of this commitment. By supporting lower barriers to technical education, Main Capital aims to support the next generation of software and technology professionals while contributing to a stronger and more inclusive software ecosystem. Beyond financial support, Main believes that collaboration between educational institutions, public initiatives, and the private sector is essential to addressing long-term labor market challenges.
TechMeUp is a non-profit initiative committed to creating equal opportunities in tech for ambitious talent with untapped potential. By investing in education and supporting individuals who cannot afford a relevant tech training themselves, TechMeUp helps prepare future talent for careers in the technology sector — contributing to stronger financial independence and mental wellbeing. Together with donors, training providers, and companies, TechMeUp builds pathways toward a more inclusive and opportunity-rich future in tech.
Main Capital Partners aims to create lasting value for our portfolio companies, investors, and society as a whole. We are equally committed to strengthening the digital economy — today and for future generations. To support this ambition, Main launched the Main Social Institute: a foundation that brings together initiatives focused on driving positive societal impact within the software industry and the broader digital ecosystem.
