cleversoft was founded in 2004 and grew out to a leading software specialist in the RegTech market. With its 80 plus employee workforce, cleversoft helps financial institutions to efficiently comply with a growing number of complex regulations. The company supports globally-acting banks, asset managers and insurers to tackle regulatory challenges under regimes such as PRIIPs, MiFID II, PIB, FIDLEG and AML-regimes. The Services for these regulations are underpinned with lifecycle management solutions including customer relations (CRM) and marketing processes. The company currently serves over 200 international customers.

Main Capital invested in cleversoft in 2018 to grow towards a market leading RegTech player in the European market through organic growth and a synergetic buy-and-build strategy. In addition to maintaining its strong growth trajectory, an explicit focus lies on smart add-on acquisitions in order to expand into adjacent market segments as well as to further internationalize.

With the help of Main, cleversoft acquired SecondFloor, an Amsterdam based specialist of risk and regulatory reporting solutions in 2019. SecondFloor became a portfolio company of Main in 2010. This combination created a leading European SaaS-focused RegTech player with more than 100 employees and a strong growth prospectus. The products of both companies are complementary enabling the combined group to offer a comprehensive solution for PRIIPs, MiFID II, Solvency II, IFRS 17 and other international regulatory frameworks. Conducting its first acquisition, cleversoft group together with SecondFloor aim to execute a buy-and-build strategy to become a European-wide leader in the market for financial regulation technology.
