Main Capital Partners today announced the acquisition of a majority stake in UHB Consulting AG ("UHB"), a leading provider of healthcare software solutions.

Main Capital Partners today announced the acquisition of a majority stake in UHB Consulting AG (“UHB”), a leading provider of healthcare software solutions. Together with management, Main will support UHB in its continued growth and a selective buy & build strategy in the healthcare sector.

Founded in 1998 in St. Wolfgang near Munich, UHB has become a leading provider of software solutions in the healthcare market with 80 employees. UHB provides customized ERP, controlling and financial solutions for more than 800 healthcare end users, including some of the largest hospitals and medical centers in Germany. The Amondis suite covers a wide range of functions and is particularly strong in the financial accounting and controlling segment. In addition, Amondis facilitates the entire purchasing process from recording all day-to-day requirements to capital goods.

The German healthcare market is characterized by the introduction of patient-centric care as well as rising pressure on healthcare costs. Since 2019, new regulations have been introduced by the federal government to accelerate the digitalization process in Germany’s healthcare ecosystem. The increasing pressure on healthcare providers to reduce costs requires transparency about income and expenses in different departments. Therefore, UHB is well positioned to pursue various opportunities in the German healthcare IT market.

UHB currently serves more than 800 end users in German-speaking countries and relies on strategic partnerships with major HIS providers. In 2022, the company will realize revenues of well over EUR 10m.

Looking ahead, Main Capital Partners will actively support UHB and its CEO and founder Thomas Unterhaslberger in maintaining the strong growth momentum by further expanding into adjacent customer segments and broadening the offering to its customers. In addition to organic growth initiatives, strategic add-on acquisitions will be an important pillar of the growth strategy to complement the innovative product and service portfolio as well as to strengthen the market position.

Yves Souren, Senior Investment Manager at Main Capital Partners, comments: “We were impressed by UHB’s well-rounded software solutions and strong positioning in the healthcare market. We consider the open corporate culture at UHB to be an important pillar of the future path to success. Together with the experienced management, we want to expand the product portfolio and the value proposition for customers through a selective buy and build strategy in the next years.

Thomas Unterhaslberger, founder and CEO at UHB Consulting, comments: “We are very excited to take the next step together with Main Capital, an experienced partner with extensive expertise in the healthcare software space. The collaboration will enable us to achieve our strategic goals faster and expand the product suite through a buy and build strategy. We are pleased to have Main Capital, a long-standing industry expert, as our partner.”

Together with the experienced management, we want to expand the product portfolio and the value proposition for customers through a selective buy and build strategy in the next years.
