  • Press release
i-doit, a prominent provider of IT documentation solutions, has acquired CONTECHNET, a German specialist in Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), IT emergency planning, and data protection software.

This strategic acquisition marks the first add-on since Main Foundation I’s initial investment in i-doit in June 2022, accelerating i-doit’s ambition to become a leading European player in the IT Operations Management (ITOM) landscape.

Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Pattensen, Germany, CONTECHNET is a specialized provider of software solutions for ISMS, IT emergency planning, and data protection. The company employs over 30 employees across its offices in Pattensen and Neuss and serves more than 400 customers through a network of over 40 partners. CONTECHNET’s solutions are sector-agnostic and are used by organizations across banking, insurance, education, healthcare, and utilities. Notable customers include Konica Minolta, Hannover 96, Stadtwerke Heidelberg, Helgoland, and Creditreform.

The combination of i-doit and CONTECHNET creates a strong German player in the IT Operations Management (ITOM) landscape, offering a comprehensive and complementary product suite. While i-doit focuses on documenting IT assets, CONTECHNET adds deep capabilities in mapping interdependencies and building contingency plans for failure scenarios. Together, the companies will provide a more holistic solution for managing IT assets and operational resilience.

This acquisition is a great example of how we aim to build leading, scalable software groups through thoughtful growth and partnership.”

- Yves Souren, Director Business Development at Main Capital Partners

Rainer Finke and Georg Reimann, Co-CEOs of CONTECHNET, comment: “We are excited to join i-doit on this journey. The combined strengths of both companies open new opportunities for product development, market expansion, and customer success. We look forward to shaping the future of IT operations and security management together.”

Constantin Schröder, CEO at i-doit, emphasizes: “Welcoming CONTECHNET into the i-doit family is a strategic milestone. Their deep expertise in information security and IT emergency planning ideally complements our strengths in IT documentation. Together, we will create a uniquely integrated platform that helps organizations manage and secure their IT environments more effectively and resiliently. We are excited about the opportunities this will unlock – for our customers, our teams, and our partners.

Yves Souren, Director Business Development at Main Capital Partners, concludes: “We are proud to support i-doit in this first strategic add-on, which significantly strengthens its position in the IT Operations Management space. The combination with CONTECHNET brings powerful product synergies and enhances go-to-market capabilities across sectors. This acquisition is a great example of how we aim to build leading, scalable software groups through thoughtful growth and partnership.”
