Main Capital Partners acquires majority in Dutch talent management player TMA

Main Capital Partners announces its majority investment in TMA, one of the leading Dutch providers of talent management software solutions.

This investment marks Main’s sixth platform investment in the HR-Tech software industry in North-Western Europe, one of the core focus markets of Main Capital.

Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Utrecht (NL), TMA is one of the leading Dutch providers of talent management solutions in the HR-Tech software space. TMA’s integrated talent management platform enables customers to manage their talents through assessments and employee development in the pre- and post-hiring phase. By combining strong industry expertise, market knowledge, and the latest IT developments, TMA has developed the scientifically based ‘TMA Method’. This method takes a positive approach by focusing on people’s talents instead of their shortcomings. With these solutions, customers can identify employees’ talents, motivations and the employees’ fit with their current role. By leveraging employees’ talents, organizations achieve better performance, higher job satisfaction and increased engagement of all stakeholders.

TMA’s client base mostly consists of a wide range of clients from small consultancy and coaching firms to large enterprises, including organizations within the government, healthcare, business and education segments. Customers are, among others, the Royal Dutch Army, bol., Action, University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, Maastricht UMC and many municipalities such as Rotterdam, Vlaardingen, The Hague, Zwolle and Amsterdam. Through its extensive partner network, TMA has an international reach, with its software used in 21 countries and in 11 languages.

Collaboration between TMA and Main

The current management team of TMA will retain a significant minority stake and stay closely involved post-closing. Main is an experienced strategic party in the HR-Tech domain, through (previous) investments in Connexys, Assessio, PERBILITY, Textkernel, BCS HR Software and TimePlan. The proposed growth strategy for TMA aims to further consolidate their position in the Netherlands while pursuing international expansion through a buy-and-build approach.
