Main Capital Partners has acquired a majority stake in synetics, a leading provider of CMDB and IT documentation software. synetics offers a software called i-doit in the CMDB (configuration management database) space that helps to document and manage IT and asset infrastructures as well as to identify interdependencies within the IT and asset landscape. The software documents existing assets, items and objects and facilitates customers to run compliant and efficient IT Service Management (ITSM) processes. Its flexibility and applicability to all industries allows companies of any size and business objective to start documenting their IT and assets at a reasonable price. With its own and third-party add-on modules that are offered via a marketplace, the i-doit solution can be extended towards a comprehensive ITSM suite that allows to further automate IT discovery, monitoring and IT security processes. synetics is regularly recognized in various industry market reports as leading player in the CMDB space.
Growing importance of IT documentation and compliance
Rising end-customer expectations drive businesses to digitize processes and upgrade their IT landscapes. Increasing complexity in client’s (technological) infrastructure oftentimes poses the challenge to efficiently and compliantly managing the firm’s (IT) assets. CMDB software addresses this challenge and, besides documenting all relevant items, stores useful information and interdependencies of its components. The pressing need of IT departments to simplify and synchronize asset documentation as well as fulfilling compliance and IT security needs are fuelling expected double digit market growth going forward.
Yves Souren, Senior Investment Manager at Main Capital Partners commented:
“synetics is a strongly growing company (c. 30% recurring growth expected in 2022) that provides an attractive platform for organic as well as inorganic growth strategies. Although large parts of the revenues are currently being generated in the DACH region we also see a lot of opportunities with the newly developed cloud product beyond the DACH market. Additionally, we seek to build out the current offering towards a comprehensive enterprise service management offering to further enhance customer value. We have known synetics for quite some time now and have seen the company developing very well in recent years. We are delighted to now support synetics on its future growth journey”.
Joachim Winkler, CEO of synetics, added:
“We have a longstanding relationship with Main Capital and strongly believe that Main with their experience in the software market is the right partner for i-doit and our next phase of profitable growth”.
synetics, founded in 1996, offers CMDB software that supports the management of the customer’s IT as well as asset landscape and facilitates IT Service management. Headquartered in Düsseldorf, synetics has approximately 40 employees and serves around 1,700 customers from various verticals, particularly the public sector.
