Shippingbo, a French provider of e-commerce logistics software, today announces the acquisition of Baback, a specialized SaaS provider of highly complementary post-purchase management solutions for e-commerce merchants.

Through this acquisition, Shippingbo expands its offering across the e-commerce logistics value chain by adding dedicated post-purchase capabilities to its existing order orchestration, warehouse management, and transport management solutions, further strengthening its ambition to build a leading European e-commerce logistics software group. This transaction marks Shippingbo’s first add-on acquisition since Main Capital Partners acquired a majority stake in October 2025.

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Strasbourg, France, Baback is a specialized provider of post-purchase management software for the e-commerce market. Its white-label SaaS platform enables merchants to manage and optimize the post-purchase journey, covering returns orchestration, exchanges and store credit optimization, carrier coordination, and shipment tracking. Today, Baback serves more than 260 active e-commerce merchants, primarily in the fashion and apparel segment, with customers including Polène, Soeur, and Balzac Paris. With its specialized product offering and strong position in fashion and apparel, a high-volume segment characterized by distinct customer journey dynamics and significant post-purchase activity, Baback provides mission-critical software that enables brands to efficiently manage complex post-purchase operations while enhancing the customer experience.

The acquisition of Baback marks an important milestone in Shippingbo’s strategy to build a leading end-to-end e-commerce logistics software group. Baback adds dedicated post-purchase management capabilities to Shippingbo’s existing order orchestration, warehouse management, and transport management offering. Together, the combined group is able to support merchants across the full logistics journey, from order management and delivery to returns and exchanges.

Whilst Baback has established a strong position among fashion and apparel brands, Shippingbo sees significant opportunities to extend its post-purchase capabilities across its broader customer base and into additional verticals. The combination will provide customers with an extended set of functionalities to better address their evolving and increasingly complex logistics needs. This builds on a strong complementarity that is already proven in the market, with dozens of shared customers already leveraging the integration of Shippingbo and Baback’s software solutions today to increase operational efficiencies and improve the customer experience, demonstrating the strong strategic fit between the two platforms.

The acquisition of Baback marks an important first step in Shippingbo’s buy-and-build strategy and its ambition to build a leading end-to-end European e-commerce logistics software group."

Marc Hericher, Co-Founder and CEO of Shippingbo, said: “With Baback, we are adding an essential post-purchase layer to our platform, enabling us to support merchants across an increasingly complete logistics journey, from order orchestration through fulfilment and delivery to returns, exchanges and second-life opportunities. Beyond the strong complementarity of our solutions, Shippingbo and Baback also share the same customer-first DNA: a strong focus on creating measurable value for our customers while continuously improving the experience and satisfaction of the end consumer. This acquisition also represents a first step in a broader ambition: to progressively build a leading European e-commerce logistics software platform through a combination of organic growth, innovation and targeted acquisitions.”

Raphaël Touati and Benoît Tallandier, Co-Founders and CEO/CTO of Baback, added: “Since founding Baback, our ambition has been to make returns easier for both customers and merchants, while helping e-commerce brands deliver a seamless post-purchase experience and reduce the operational cost of managing returns. Together with Shippingbo, we can go one step further by connecting more closely with warehouse operations and providing merchants with a more complete view of the journey, from order through to return. This partnership also creates a strong opportunity to expand beyond fashion, accelerate our growth across Europe, and continue developing our platform alongside a highly complementary team.”

Jonas Kruip, Investment Director at Main and Chairman of Shippingbo’s Supervisory Board, concluded: “The acquisition of Baback marks an important first step in Shippingbo’s buy-and-build strategy and its ambition to build a leading end-to-end European e-commerce logistics software group. By combining Shippingbo and Baback, the platform will cover the full logistics journey, from the moment an order is placed through fulfilment and delivery to the customer’s home, and back again in the event of a return. This creates a valuable loop of data and intelligence across the entire journey, which can be leveraged to further improve the overall offering and unlock new opportunities, including through AI. We look forward to supporting both teams as they continue to build and expand the group’s platform across Europe.”
