To support our rapidly growing office in The Hague, we are seeking a new colleague with a proactive mindset and strong analytical skills to join our team as a Marketing & Communications Lead.

Marketing & Communications Lead

The current Marketing & Communications team consists of 2 colleagues (1 with key expertise in digital marketing & event management, 1 with primary focus on branding & content creation), who report to the COO of Main Capital (Bram Kaashoek). To further support our growth and further internationalization, we are expanding that team with a Lead. The Lead will oversee the activities of the entire marketing & communications team, and complements capabilities on the front of Corporate Communications. In this role you contribute to Main’s visibility in the (foreign) press, the way in which we disseminate thought leadership and industry knowledge, and structure the activities of Marketing & Communications. Collaboration with the CEO (Charly Zwemstra), international deal teams, Main’s partner team and Investor Relations is essential to properly convey Main’s (deal) activities through various channels to our core target groups: investors and software companies.

Why You’ll Be a Great Fit?

  • Relevant Experience: You have 5-7 years of relevant professional experience within an (external) communication role. You have experience with (corporate communications and project based work. Experience in the business/financial services or IT/software industry is an advantage.
  • Creative thinker and entrepreneur: You are a creative thinker and entrepreneur with an excellent command of language (spoken and written).
  • Bilingual: You have excellent command of Dutch and English (preferably also in German), both spoken and written.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor (HBO+) or Scientific education (WO) (e.g. in journalism, communication, business administration/sciences, economics).
  • Analytical skills: When you have strong analytical skills that set you apart, Main is an organization where a lot is possible and where you get plenty of responsibilities.
  • Independent and Organized: You can work independently and set priorities in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • International press guideline & corporate communication: Building and maintaining personal contacts with media and journalists. E.g. with the FD, De Tijd, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and building and strengthening media relations with press such as FT, WSJ, Handelsblatt, Les Echos and CNBC.
  • Overall management of the Marketing & Communications activities: For the other two employees emphasis mainly lays on (1) digital marketing & events, (2) content creation.
  • Cross-border Events & knowledge sessions: Organization and management of Main Software 50, Main Insight Event and the Main CTO Day etc.
  • Establish, monitor and implement channel strategy: Continuous information provision about Main’s most important developments, our portfolio companies and trends via social media, a periodic newsletter and third-party channels.
  • Contribute to activities of the communications team: Responsible for all internal and external communication-related contributions (e.g. press releases, video, content creation, podcast series, design of communication/marketing material, CRM (software), website, social media (such as LinkedIn), in collaboration with external agencies/suppliers and/or the Investor Relations team.
  • Cross-border marketing & communication strategy: (Further) developing and tightening the strategy in line with Main’s objectives. It is important to communicate clearly and purposefully to increase brand awareness, strengthen Main’s overall branding and positioning, and further promote thought leadership.
