The announcement follows the successful acquisition of MEGA International in September 2024. The combined group, operating under the ‘Bizzdesign’ brand, will generate approximately EUR 110 million in revenue, serves around 2,000 customers, and employs over 600 people, establishing a truly global presence. This acquisition marks the third add-on acquisition in Bizzdesign’s buy-and-build strategy to expand its footprint in the EA and SPM market.
Reimagining the market
By pooling expertise and resources, the new business will be strategically positioned to drive further innovation in enterprise transformation and deliver enhanced value to customers and partners. The combined group will retain its three existing and complementary products (Horizzon, HOPEX, Alfabet), creating the most comprehensive end-to-end transformation offering in the market, covering enterprise architecture management (EAM), strategic portfolio management (SPM), business process management (BPM), and governance risk & compliance (GRC). Additionally, Bizzdesign is developing a new cloud-native, AI-based enterprise transformation platform.
Expanding the Bizzdesign portfolio with SPM
With the Alfabet acquisition, Bizzdesign expands its footprint to the SPM market. As operating models change through digitalization, interdependencies between business functions and IT increase. Alfabet, a recognized leader in the SPM market, supports businesses, IT strategists and planners to map and analyze these connections.
Bert van der Zwan, CEO of Bizzdesign, commented: “By combining the capabilities and talents of three businesses, we will be able to scale our innovations across our collective roadmaps and unlock more value, much faster for all of our customers.”
Luca de Risi, COO of the combined group, added: “It’s an exciting time for customers of all three businesses as the new group benefits from increased investments in innovation and a unified global presence. We have a long-term plan to unlock these benefits for customers, while ensuring continuity of service.”
Conrad Langhammer, who will continue to lead the Alfabet division of the combined group, said: “The scope of EA is changing by being extended to previously unrelated business functions. The new Bizzdesign group is an opportunity to reimagine how we serve these emerging professions and build the technologies they need, while continuing to support the fundamentals of the market.”
Sven van Berge Henegouwen, Managing Partner at Main and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bizzdesign, concludes: “This transaction represents another significant milestone in Bizzdesign’s growth strategy, and the combination underscores our strategy to build larger international software groups within one of our core product markets. Since the beginning of our strategic partnership with Bizzdesign, we have focused on creating a market-leading platform in the Enterprise Architecture space. The acquisition of Alfabet, following the successful acquisition of MEGA International, further strengthens Bizzdesign’s market position. By merging the strengths of Bizzdesign, MEGA International, and Alfabet, we unite three organizations renowned for their innovation and expertise in the EA, SPM and broader BPM space, establishing a robust foundation for further global expansion.”
