As a member of the investment team, you will actively be involved in evaluating investment opportunities and deal execution.

Why you would be a great fit for us:

  • You have or are close to getting an Academic Master in (financial and/or technical) business or economics.
  • Additional education in computer/information science, (German) law or (Swedish) tax law is an advantage.
  • You have 1-3 years of relevant work experience (including internships/training).
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills to work in a team and the ability to work independently and further develop our Düsseldorf office together with senior staff.
  • You are proactive, analytical and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English is a must.

What your responsibilities will be:

  • Execution of investment projects in a team. The team often consists of a Business Analyst/Associate, (Sr.) Investment Manager and/or a Partner
  • Analyzing and explaining (financial) data, building (financial) models, analyzing and insight into investment and financing proposals
  • Performing market and strategy analysis (both with your team and with the Market Intelligence Practice)
  • Preparing investment proposals and presenting them in our weekly team meeting
  • Researching and presenting potential deal flow
  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly reports
  • Supporting (senior) investment managers and partners in daily activities, including the management and exit of portfolio companies
  • Assisting in the organization of events such as the Main Software 50 and the Main Insight event
  • Support in the sourcing of new funds

Interviews & Case Study

You will undergo several in-person interviews, either on the same day or spread over a period of time. Depending on the role, we will ask you to conduct a specifically designed case study. This way we can assess your skills and you’ll know what to expect when working at Main. We’ll let you know early on about any additional information and materials you’ll need in order for you to be able to prepare well.
